Here is a look at the various hosts, cast, and personalities from the first season of Oca. Actual names of the personalities are given except when not given on the show or unknown.

EMILIO ARAGÓN - Easily recognizable by his weird combination of a tuxedo and tennis shoes, he is the show's main emcee. He is responsible for welcoming everyone to the show, introducing the contestants, and explaining some of the stunts. Emilio is also involved in a few of the stunts, challenges, and/or skits, and occasionally funny and strange things happen to him, such as the time the judges locked him up in the Snake Den.

LYDIA BOSCH - Lydia is the redhead female assistant host with a deep voice and a bad fear of, well, creatures. Anytime there are bugs, snakes, worms, etc. on the set, she freaks out and usually jumps up into Emilio's arms. She doesn't like fat men who give messy kisses at all (namely, Fernando) and hates it when past clips are reviewed on the show. Anytime the Sound Guys make weird noises on their equipment she cracks up laughing and can't stop. She is also known for getting overly excited when someone wins his or her challenge, and frequently yelling things at the top of her lungs. Lydia explains some stunts and does general hosting duties.

PATRICIA PÉREZ - Patricia is the female assistant host vith very short, brown layered hair. She sort of resembles a Mexican Drew Barrymore. She has a very bubbly personality, has had jokes played on her and technical crew men impersonate her, and can't keep her hands off the male contestants. Anytime someone lands on an Oca, she is usually the one to announce it.

OQUETTES - Oquettes is the eight-member dance team that participates in a number of various activities on the show. More information and pictures of the Oquettes can be found here.

LOLA GONZALES - Lola is the choreographer and instructor for the Oquettes. She usually helps contestants learn the dances of the Oquettes for various contests, and also judges the contestants (fairly generously) according to how they dance.

CHICOS/CHICAS OCA - These swimsuit-clad cast members usually just lie around the pool minding their own business, but are sometimes involved with the stunts. The Chicos Oca (male actors) also assist with the mechanical workings of each stunt. Some of them, as seen below, hang out in the Cage and fight against contestants who enter it.

ROMY - Romy is the female mudwrestler who wreaks havoc on whomever enters her mud pit. She always wears a solid colored bikini, and has a male backup who really doesn't do much except stand there and lift weights. Romy also occasionally helps out with other challenges, such as "Beauty Parlor Q&A" (see the pruebas page.) She usually has a pretty good time in the mud pit, and usually the mud makes the ground so slippery that they both usually end up falling on each other laughing without really doing all that much pushing and shoving.

MAXTOR - Maxtor is a muscular black gladiator dressed in metal fighting gear, a metal thong over his silver athletic shorts (hmmmm...,) a skull painted on his chest, and a contact lens which makes him appear as if he has a glass eye. As the audience repeatedly chants his name to a drumbeat, Maxtor comes out of a door in the side of the studio and immediately starts beating on actors and audience members, sometimes using small props such as breakaway chairs, as he makes his way to the contestant. The contestant must then defeat him in a race or contest usually involving feats of strength.

PROMOTIONAL CHARACTERS - These animated characters appear before a game is played and promote some sort of product or service, which the game played usually involves. Super Mario represents Nintendo (namely Game Boy,) an animated cow represents milk, Boskys (three or four elves) represent the cereal with their name, and the book represents Antena 3 Television, the broadcasting company that produces El gran juego de la oca. Toward the middle of the season, they did away with all promotional characters except the cow (who didn't appear until approximately 2/3 through the run.) The games where the cow appeared didn't necessarily involve milk as they did a contestant drinking a ceremonial glass of milk before competing.

FLEQUI - Flequi, easily the most popular personality on the show, was the crazy barber who cut off unlucky contestants' hair during the first season. More info and pictures can be found here.

DANNY - Danny is the judge who watches the show from the control room and makes the decisions on close calls. He only appeared personally on the show once that I know of, when he came out on the final show to be kissed and slapped by the Oquettes during the last Beso y Tortazo.

EL MIMOSO PRINGOSO / LA BESUCONA - These characters took part in a most hideous game. One would come out at a certain time in the show, and whoever was the unlucky contestant at that moment risked getting the worst kisses ever! There was a female witch-like woman called la besucona ("the kissing lady") for the male contestants, and el mimoso pringoso ("the greasy lover") named Fernando for the girls. Fernando sat at a table and ate spaghetti with his hands like a two-year-old child, spitting and drooling it everywhere and on himself. For more information on the kissing game involving these two, see the pruebas page.

THE SOUND GUYS - Responsible for all the music and other goofy sound effects heard on the show, these two guys hang out in a loft to the left of The Wall and juice the position out for all it's worth. They have a whole cache of sound effects to use against anybody in any place at any time. These include funny Spanish phrases, slips, floops, crashes, laughter, and of course the annoying "quack quack quack quack quack" of the Oca. They also have assisted in a couple of games, and always put their two cents in for the show's comic relief. The music they use for the stunts is for the most part the best soundtrack for any game show, from peaceful tunes for the underwater missions to cute, upbeat, and funny melodies to drilling electrical guitar bits for the tough challenges and explosive stunts. Each time they manually play additional music on their keyboards so that no two musical scores, save the background music, ever sound alike. If only today's American theme composers could come up with such ingenuity!

LOS MONSTRUOS - These goofy monsters only appeared in early episodes of the show; therefore, I have none of their appearances on tape. These very hostile baddies appeared in various missions and always ran around wearing shredded-up Sunday clothes and strange masks or makeup. They came after the contestants and/or Emilio on occasion.

CALZONCILLO MAN - It's Underwear Man, and if you're unfortunate, he may come to a Prueba near you! This character, who appeared on only two episodes, was the exact opposite of a superhero and was the predecessor to Maxtor. He came out to the tune of his own march, dressed in socks, underwear, and pink pajamas. The contestant would be given a rather simple stunt to complete, but Calzoncillo Man was allowed to do whatever possible to hinder the contestant's progress, including shaking the setup and blocking the contestant's only path.

THE UNDERTAKERS - There were two or three "Undertakers" that came and took a contestant back to start if he landed on the "Death" space near the end of the game. One Undertaker, who always wore a mask, drove what I like to call the "Deathmobile" (a black, beat-up Bobcat-like piece of equipment) while the other(s), unmasked, sat with the contestant in the back and "tortured" him. For more info on the Death space, go to the spaces page.

ALBERTO MURRONI - This world-famous Italian knife thrower and his assistant, Vesna Peracino, were a mainstay on all three seasons of the Spanish Oca as well as the Italian version. During the first season he appeared once per show, then he was given his own space for the second season. He would give a demonstration, then the contestant would either have to complete a related stunt or bet on whether or not Alberto could successfully perform another demonstration.

LAS OCAS - This the only show that I know of that let live geese run freely around the set! Sure, Let's Make a Deal had them, but you only see them in a pen behind a curtain! I think this was great. I would have liked to see them just come after someone, or otherwise go crazy. They always just stood around in a little group.
